After I place an order, what's next

For Mobile Speak Smartphone purchases, please send us an email with the phone model, i.e. Motorola Q, Samsung Blackjack, etc. That is all that is required to generate a User ID.

For Mobile Magnifier purchases, please send us an email with the serial number generated by the software. Where to obtain the serial number varies by product so please refer to the product manual for how to locate it. With the serial number I can generate a license key and can generally send that back to you by email within 24 hrs.

Before you place an order, please make sure:

You have a working compatible device (try it because phones sometimes fail out of the box)
Have downloaded the software to your device
Have gone through a 30 day trial license (we highly recommend everyone try the product first)

After I place an order, do I receive the software in the mail, Fedex, or UPS?

No, the software is typically revised every 3 months so sending discs is impractical. Simply go to the Code Factory website, www.codefactory.es and download the latest version of the software. Please be sure to download the correct version and language. We cannot license tts versions other than the ones that we sell as they are considered different products and are not in our inventory. For example Mobile Speak Fonix US English is a different product from Mobile Speak Fonix UK English even though they may seem similar to the end user.

What version of the software am I getting?

The version of the software is the current version that is downloaded from the Code Factory website. Upgrades to Code Factory software have been free so you can upgrade if you like in the future without additional purchase. There is no software maintenance fee, upgrade fee, etc. You can periodically scan the Code Factory site for the latest version or sign up to receive email notifications on their website. We generally follow the policy of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." So prior to upgrading make sure you have a specific bug in mind that the latest version will fix.

What if I want a different voice than the Fonix?

We're sorry but we only sell the Fonix US English voice which may sound more robotic but has the advantage of requiring less of the phone's processor and is faster responding and more consistent.

Do you sell other software besides Mobile Speak Smartphone?

We currently only sell Mobile Speak Smartphone licenses with Fonix US English voice.

If I lose or damage my phone, how do I get another license for my new phone?

New licenses required because the device was stolen or replaced by the manufacturer or vendor due to damage obtained while under warranty are available to currently registered users free of charge if proper documentation confirming the theft or reason for hardware replacement is provided. You can contact us for assistance in obtaining the new license.

What if I want to get a new device to upgrade my existing phone?

For Mobile Speak Smartphone® with user centered licensing, i.e. User ID, licenses can freely be transferred among devices by the user. Only one licensed device can be running at any one time however.

New recommended end user prices for license transfers of both Mobile Speak® and Mobile Speak Smartphone® are effective as of today. For $99, current users can get a new license for either screen access product in the event that they decide to switch to a different Symbian-based or Windows Mobile-powered device from the one on which they initially registered the software. You can contact us for assistance in obtaining the new license. Note: the upgrade policy is not applicable to existing Mobile Speak Pocket. A full license purchase is required when purchasing a Mobile Speak or Mobile Speak Smartphone license even if you are an existing Mobile Speak Pocket owner.
