Access Math and Science

I am in the process of forming a non-profit in NC called Access Math and Science whose mission is to introduce and educate special needs children in the areas of math, science, and technology.

Lego© Mindstorms™ robot

The Lego© Mindstorms™ educational robot is a great platform for teaching special needs children math and science. It is well suited for academically oriented children with motor, vision, and hearing disabilities. It can easily be used in an inclusive setting. This can open up a whole new way of learning about math and science to your child.

For children who are deaf and hard of hearing: Very visual hands-on method of learning

For children with mobility disabilities: Allows interaction with the robot using computer programming. Real-time data can be transmitted back to the computer for conducting science experiments.

For children with vision disabilities: Hands-on method of learning

Individualized curriculum
Robot is provided during session
Home sessions available
Can be easily used in an inclusive setting
